Stepping into my electrical apprenticeship at Swift in January 2022 was a pretty big change from hospitality – I basically knew nothing about construction. But honestly, I got super lucky with an awesome team who really guided me. I didn't just pick up electrical and construction skills; they also taught me a ton about working with people, communicating better, and how to plan and sort out problems.
As Swift has gotten bigger, my role has definitely grown with it. I went from just helping out my tradies in my first year to now managing parts of jobs and even helping new apprentices get started. Swift's always given me chances to learn and take on more, which has given me the experience and confidence to step up into a tradesman role.

I started with Swift in early 2024, originally in the finance department. I had expressed a strong interest in wanting to learn more about the electrical project process, and Swift have been genuinely amazing at encouraging further learning. After a few months, Swift helped me to transition fully into the electrical space and my role has continuously grown since then.
I love that Swift encourages initiative and allows us to take ownership of our roles and responsibilities. The exposure I've had with Swift has developed an interest in the electrical space that I would never have thought to pursue beforehand, and I am so grateful for the opportunities that have been given so far.

When I first joined Swift, I was focused on developing my skills as a tradesman and supporting onsite teams. As the company expanded, so did my role - I stepped up into site supervision, balancing hands-on work with managing day-to-day site operations.
Moving into a full-time Project Manager role has allowed me to shift my focus toward planning, team development, and project delivery. Growing with Swift has meant continuously taking on new, bigger challenges and responsibilities, and I'm excited to keep contributing to both the company's success and the team's growth.
