Our scope for Torrington Warehouse Facilities was delivered under a base-build design and construct contract for the electrical package on two new industrial warehouse developments, comprising:

• Building 1 – 2,337 m² warehouse with 101 m² office space
• Building 2 – 1,295 m² warehouse with 145 m² office space

Located within an estate serviced by an embedded network, the project required installation of consumer mains cabling through the estate back to the local main switchboard (MSB). The larger facility was purpose-designed for a material recovery and processing plant, which involved close liaison with the tenant to confirm electrical load requirements. 

This included installation of a new site MSB, coordination with the supply authority for the installation of a 1.5 MVA transformer, and seamless integration into the estate network.

Scope of Works:

• Full electrical and communications installation
• Office power and lighting fit-outs
• General lighting, emergency lighting, and evacuation lighting design and install
• Embedded network integration
• Design, supply, and installation of the new site MSB and submains
• Ongoing works direct for tenant by Swift Energy, including consulting, submains & cable tray systems, and machine/motor connection & compliance.
• A key strength of the project was our ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders - from the principal contractor to the tenant and supply authority ensuring all requirements were met without delays. 

The works also involved underboring beneath an existing road for the installation of 4 × 150 mm heavy-duty conduits to carry large parallel submains from the new MSB to the processing facility. 

Across the project, our team installed over 5 km of cabling, a testament to the scale, capability, and efficiency of our installation crews.
